Indulge in this zesty lemon panna cotta – a luscious, silky Italian delight.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package powdered gelatin (such as Knox®)
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 2.5 tablespoons fresh lemon zest, divided
  • 1 tablespoon orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier®)
Instructions:
  • Combine lemon juice and unflavored gelatin in a small bowl. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes until the gelatin softens.
  • In a saucepan over medium-low heat, mix together heavy cream, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of lemon zest. Let it simmer, then whisk in the gelatin mixture until dissolved. Take it off the heat and stir in the orange liqueur.
  • Pour the cream mixture through a strainer into a medium bowl, then evenly distribute it among small glass bowls or ramekins.
  • Refrigerate the uncovered panna cottas until set, approximately 4 hours. For best results, cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight if possible.
  • Sprinkle with the rest of the lemon zest just before serving.
