Indulgent licorice infused with rich caramel and anise flavor, in striking black color. Made with condensed milk and corn syrup.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon anise extract
  • black paste food coloring
Instructions:
  • Butter foil and neatly line a 9x9-inch dish.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add sugar, milk, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil while stirring frequently. Cook without stirring until the mixture reaches 242 to 248 degrees F (116 to 120 degrees C) or forms a pliable ball when dropped into cold water. Remove from heat, mix in anise and food coloring, then pour into prepared pan. Allow to cool completely for several hours.
  • After cutting, gently remove from pan and peel off the foil. Slice using a knife greased with butter. Individually wrap the pieces in waxed paper or candy wrappers.
