Flaxseed, almond milk, and applesauce transform waffles into vegan fluffy perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons flaxseed meal
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1.75 cups almond milk
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup applesauce
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, mix water and flaxseed meal together. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • In a spacious mixing bowl, blend together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until fully combined.
  • Combine almond milk, oil, applesauce, and vanilla extract with the flaxseed mixture until smooth. Stir in the flour mixture until just combined.
  • Preheat the waffle iron following the manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Spoon 1/3 cup waffle batter onto the hot waffle iron. Cook until golden brown and the steaming stops, approximately 5 minutes. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
