Enhance your Italian lemon liqueur gift with a mini grater and tasting cups for a delightful touch.
Ingredients:
  • 6 lemons
  • 750ml (3 cups) vodka
  • 225g (1 cup) white sugar
  • 435ml (1 3/4 cups) water
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, submerge the lemons in boiling water and let them soak for 1 hour. Then, drain and pat them dry before finely grating the lemon rind and mixing it with vodka in a jug.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, combine sugar and water. Stir and cook for 5 minutes until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to medium, bring to a boil, and let it cook for 3 minutes until the syrup thickens. Set aside to cool.
  • Combine the syrup with the vodka mixture, then transfer to sterilised airtight bottles. Seal and store in a cool, dark place, shaking occasionally, to let the flavors develop over 1 month.
  • Filter the vodka mixture through a fine sieve to remove the rind, then transfer it to a clean sterilized airtight bottle.
