Linzer Torte Bars (Cookie Exchange Quantity)

Whip up crowd-pleasing fruit bars in just three steps!
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 cups ground walnuts
  • 1 1/2 cups butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups raspberry or strawberry preserves
  • Additional powdered sugar, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Mix all ingredients, excluding preserves and extra powdered sugar, in a large bowl until crumbly. Set aside 2 cups of the mixture for topping. Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan.
  • Bake until crust is golden brown, then spread the preserves, sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture, and press gently into the preserves.
  • Continue baking until the top is a light golden brown, for about 20-25 minutes. Allow to cool completely for approximately 1 hour. Dust with extra powdered sugar and cut into bars by slicing into 12 rows by 6 rows.
