Spicy Cajun Cheddar Crawfish Pasta with egg noodles, onion, and bell pepper - a rich and delicious New Orleans meal.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 (12 ounce) package egg noodles
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup minced green bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 (16 ounce) package cooked and peeled whole crawfish tails
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning blend (such as Tony Chachere's®), or to taste
  • 0.75 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.33333334326744 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 0.33333334326744 cup sliced green onions
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water until it's bubbling. Add egg noodles and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are tender but still slightly firm, around 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter until sizzling. Sauté onion, bell pepper, parsley, and garlic until onion turns soft and translucent, around 5 minutes. Add crawfish tails and Cajun seasoning, then let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Combine 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, heavy cream, and mushrooms in the pot and stir until the cheese melts. Add the cooked noodles and green onions, mixing until well combined. Finish by sprinkling with the remaining 1/4 cup of Cheddar cheese before serving.
