Mango Thai Basil Margarita

Tropical mango margarita with zesty lime and fragrant Thai basil.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh mango
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 oz (3 tablespoons) Mango Puree
  • 1 oz (2 tablespoons) blanco tequila
  • 1/4 oz clear orange-flavored liqueur
  • 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 fresh Thai basil leaves, torn
  • 1 oz club soda, chilled
  • Mango wedges and/or additional Thai basil leaves, if desired
Instructions:
  • In a blender, blend together mango, sugar, and water until smooth. Transfer the puree to a storage container, cover, and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Yield: about 1 1/2 cups of Mango Puree.
  • For a refreshing mango margarita, combine 1 1/2 oz of mango puree, tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and torn basil leaves in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, shake well, and strain into a glass with ice. Top with club soda and garnish with mango or more Thai basil leaves.
