Sweet and spicy bacon-wrapped sausages baked with brown sugar for a perfect appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups brown sugar, or as needed
  • 2 (14 ounce) packages little smoked sausages
  • 1 (16 ounce) package bacon slices, cut into thirds (or as needed)
  • 1 box toothpicks
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and elegantly line a large baking dish with aluminum foil.
  • Combine cayenne pepper with brown sugar in a bowl. Wrap each smoked sausage in a bacon strip and secure with a toothpick. Place wrapped sausages in a baking dish. Pack brown sugar mixture around sausages until covered by 1/2 inch. Cover dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then increase the oven heat to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) and remove the aluminum foil from the pan.
  • Bake in the hot oven until the brown sugar has melted and thickened, for 30-40 minutes.
