Indulge in a mouthwatering cheesy beef and sausage bread pudding using 3 cups of Make-Ahead Seasoned Ground Beef and Sausage for a quick and delicious meal!
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb ground beef round
  • 1/2 lb bulk Italian pork sausage
  • 1 container (8 oz) refrigerated prechopped onion, celery and bell pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 boxes (9.5 oz each) frozen five-cheese Texas toast, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 cups shredded Italian cheese blend (8 oz)
  • Small fresh basil leaves, if desired
  • Additional marinara sauce, heated, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and generously coat a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. In a large skillet, cook the beef, sausage, and onion over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes until fully cooked; remember to stir occasionally. Drain any excess fat and then mix in 1 cup of marinara sauce.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together half-and-half, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, pepper, and eggs until fully blended.
  • Place a layer of half of the Texas toast in a baking dish, then add half of the meat mixture and 1 cup of the cheese blend. Repeat the layers and finish by pouring the egg mixture over the top.
  • Bake for 50 to 55 minutes until the center is fully set. Allow to rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh basil and serve with extra marinara sauce.
