Hearty slow cooker spaghetti sauce with chunks of meat, flavors intensify with time.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.25 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 2 small onions, chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herb seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can Italian-style diced tomatoes
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can Italian-style stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, sizzle Italian sausage and onion in olive oil until sausage is golden brown, approximately 10 minutes. Transfer the flavorful mixture to a slow cooker.
  • Place the ground beef in the skillet over medium heat, and generously season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and marjoram. Sauté the beef until browned and crumbly, approximately 10 minutes. Transfer the cooked ground beef to the slow cooker.
  • Combine a medley of tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, oregano, thyme, and basil. Simmer on Low for 8 hours. Sweeten with sugar 15 minutes prior to serving.
