Mexican-Spiced Fudge Brownies

Indulge in rich chocolate fudge brownies, a decadent Mexican treat for your guests.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened Dutch processed baking cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 6 oz Mexican chocolate (from 18.6-oz box), chopped
  • 4 eggs
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F and generously spray an 8-inch square pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, salt, cinnamon, and red pepper in a medium bowl; set aside.
  • Microwave butter and chocolate in a large microwave-safe bowl on High for 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute, until melted and smooth. Mix in flour mixture, eggs, and vanilla. Pour into pan.
  • Bake for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean. Let it cool completely on a rack for about one hour, then cut into 16 equal pieces.
