Microwavable apple and oat granola bars - a healthy and comforting dessert in minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 2 large crisp apples (such as Braeburn, Gala or Fuji)
  • 2 tablespoons raisins or sweetened dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 4 teaspoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 4 Nature Valley™ crunchy granola bars (2 pouches from 8.9-oz box) (any flavor), crushed
  • Milk, cream or fruit-flavored yogurt, if desired
Instructions:
  • Halve the apples lengthwise and use a spoon to carefully scoop out and discard the cores, creating a 1-inch indentation in each half. Arrange the apple halves, cut sides up, in a microwave-safe pie plate. Trim a thin slice off the bottoms if necessary to prevent tipping.
  • Evenly stuff each apple half with sweet raisins and brown sugar, then top with a touch of butter. Cover with microwavable plastic wrap, leaving a 1/4 inch vent to release steam.
  • Microwave the apples on High for 5 to 6 minutes until tender. Sprinkle each with granola and serve with milk.
