Irresistible frosted Christmas cookies that disappear fast – hide them to make it to Christmas!
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup tightly packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar, divided, or as needed
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk, or more as needed
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate sprinkles, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Using an electric mixer, blend butter, brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon white sugar until creamy. Add egg yolk and vanilla, mix until well combined. Gradually blend in flour. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 8 hours to overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and spread the remaining 2 tablespoons of white sugar on a plate.
  • Take the dough out of the refrigerator, shape it into small balls, and place them on ungreased cookie sheets. Gently press each ball flat using a sugar-dipped glass.
  • Bake in the preheated oven, swapping racks halfway, until edges are golden, for 7 to 9 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet for 1 minute before transferring to a wire rack to cool for an additional 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Once the cookies have cooled, blend butter and powdered sugar together until smooth. Then, incorporate milk and vanilla into the mixture.
  • Decorate the cooled cookies with a delectable layer of frosting. Immediately sprinkle colorful and delightful sprinkles on top before the frosting sets.
