Budget-friendly salmon and potato bake with retro vibes - simple ingredients, delicious outcome.
Ingredients:
  • 8 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 (14.75 ounce) can salmon, drained and flaked
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour, or more as needed
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons salted butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously butter a casserole dish.
  • Create a base of potato and onion slices in the dish. Place the salmon over it. Dust flour over the salmon until it's coated. Season with half of the salt and pepper. Layer the rest of the onions and potatoes, then sprinkle the remaining salt and pepper. Pour in the milk and finish with a layer of butter on top.
  • Bake, covered, in the hot oven until beautifully golden for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
