Make money bag appetizers with sweet chili dipping sauce - a fun and tasty finger food favorite. Easy step-by-step recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 115.00 gm vegetable oil
  • 200g lean pork mince (see note)
  • 2 celery stalks, trimmed, finely chopped
  • 20.00 ml chopped fresh chives
  • 10.60 gm soy sauce
  • 6.00 gm sesame seeds
  • 8.00 gm brown sugar
  • 15 chives, halved
  • 275g packet (30) gow gee wrappers
  • sweet chilli sauce, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, heat 2 teaspoons of oil. Add the mince and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon until browned and fully cooked.
  • Sauté celery and garlic until celery is tender. Stir in chopped chives, soy sauce, sesame seeds, and sugar, cooking for an additional minute. Set aside to cool. In a heatproof bowl, pour boiling water over halved chives, then drain.
  • Lay down a wrapper, spoon a generous teaspoon of mince in the middle, moisten the edge, fold the sides to create a pouch, seal by pinching, use a chive to tie it together. Repeat with the rest of the wrappers, mince, and chives. Trim excess chive.
  • Heat the remaining oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Cook the money bags in batches, turning occasionally, for 3 to 4 minutes until they are golden brown and heated through. Drain them on a paper towel and serve with sweet chili sauce.
