Cozy up with a spiced mulled wine on chilly nights.
Ingredients:
  • 750ml dry red wine
  • 225g (1 cup) white sugar
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) brandy
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) water
  • 2 oranges, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, lightly crushed
  • 6 whole cloves
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
  • Lemon peel, to decorate
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over low heat, combine wine, sugar, brandy, water, orange, lemon, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Simmer gently, stirring occasionally, for 5-10 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is aromatic. Remove from heat.
  • Pour the fragrant mulled wine through a strainer into a large jug. Then distribute it among the serving glasses. Garnish with delicate lemon peel and serve promptly.
