Cozy mulled wine with red wine, cloves, cinnamon, and lemon - perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups boiling water
  • 0.25 lemon
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 1 (3 inch) cinnamon stick
  • 1 (750 milliliter) bottle claret wine
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
Instructions:
  • Combine water and sugar in a saucepan and stir until sugar dissolves. Add lemon, cloves, and cinnamon stick; bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes to infuse flavors. Strain the mixture, discarding the lemon, cloves, and cinnamon. Transfer the infused liquid back to the saucepan.
  • Combine the wine with the water mixture and heat gently until hot, but not boiling, for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve with a sprinkle of nutmeg for extra flavor if desired.
