Warm up with this cozy spiced apple cider recipe featuring cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. Perfect for chilly days!
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 gallon fresh, unfiltered apple cider (non-alcoholic)
  • 1 orange
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 4 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
  • 15 allspice berries
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
  • 7 whole cardamom pods
  • 2 tablepoon brown sugar, optional
Instructions:
  • In a 3-quart saucepan, combine apple cider, orange slices studded with cloves, orange peel strips, and spices. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, then reduce to low and simmer for 20 minutes. Enjoy the aromatic mulled cider!
  • Separate the orange and spices: Use a fine mesh sieve to strain the hot mulled cider, removing the orange, cloves, and spices. For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of bourbon, brandy, or rum. Serve hot and garnish with an orange slice or cinnamon stick, if desired.
