Cozy up with a glass of spiced mulled wine on chilly nights.
Ingredients:
  • 750ml dry red wine
  • 225g (1 cup) white sugar
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) brandy
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) water
  • 2 oranges, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, lightly crushed
  • 6 whole cloves
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
  • Lemon peel, to decorate
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, combine wine, sugar, brandy, water, orange, lemon, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg over low heat. Allow the mixture to simmer and stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves and it becomes aromatic. Once ready, remove from heat.
  • After straining the fragrant mulled wine into a large jug, gracefully pour it into individual serving glasses. Garnish each glass with a delicate twist of lemon peel before serving promptly to enjoy the flavors at their peak.
