Indulge in Nanna's decadent caramel whirl dessert made with condensed milk and luscious whipped cream.
Ingredients:
  • 175g butter, at room temperature, chopped
  • 395g can sweetened condensed milk
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
  • 190g (1 1/4 cups) self-raising flour
  • 2.50 gm ground cinnamon
  • 160ml (2/3 cup) Caramel Top ‘N’ Fill or dulce de leche
  • 250ml (1 cup) thickened cream, whipped
  • Icing sugar, to dust
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan forced. Grease a 20cm round cake pan and line with 2 layers of baking paper on the base and sides.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, condensed milk, milk, eggs, vanilla, flour, and cinnamon using electric beaters on low speed until combined. Increase speed to medium and beat for 4 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  • Transfer the batter into the pan and level it out. Bake for 50 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Using a long serrated knife, carefully slice the cake in half horizontally. Spread the bottom half of the cake generously with caramel, then layer on fluffy whipped cream. Carefully place the top half of the cake back on and finish by lightly dusting the entire cake with icing sugar.
