Indulgent oatmeal chocolate bars, a hit for any occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup peanut butter
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 9-inch square baking dish by generously spraying it with cooking spray.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter until sizzling. Mix in brown sugar and aromatic vanilla extract. Fold in oats and simmer gently until blended, about 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer half of the flavorful oat mixture into the pan.
  • In a small heavy saucepan, gently melt chocolate chips and peanut butter over low heat. Stir frequently until smooth, which should take about 4 minutes. Pour the chocolate mixture over the oat layer and spread it out evenly. Then, crumble the remaining oat mixture over the chocolate, gently pressing it in.
  • Wrap the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm for 2 to 3 hours or overnight. Let it come to room temperature before slicing into bars.
