Classic Norwegian Christmas dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound unsalted butter
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons bakers' ammonia
  • 1 cup finely chopped almonds
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Combine the butter and sugar in a large bowl until creamy. Mix in the powdered ammonia and chopped almonds. Add the flour and knead until well combined. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls and chill in the freezer for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees Celsius). Remove the cookies from the freezer and bake for 30 minutes until perfectly golden.
