Elevate your hot dog game with a delicious homemade slop joe topping for a gourmet twist!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 0.5 cup chopped celery
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 0.5 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
  • 2.5 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 0.75 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning mix
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 8 hot dog buns, split and toasted
Instructions:
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the beef until crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes, then drain excess grease. Add celery and onion, cover, and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Combine tomato soup, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce into the cooked ground beef; season with taco seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. Simmer and stir mixture until flavors meld, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a boil. Cook the hot dogs in the boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes until done. Remove hot dogs from water using tongs.
  • Fill each warm, golden bun with a flavorful hot dog and generously spoon over the seasoned ground beef mixture.
