Indulgent New Orleans oyster dressing with bold Cajun flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped, or more to taste
  • 1.5 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 1 quart fresh shucked oysters, drained and liquid reserved
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x9-inch square baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Cook and stir onion and garlic until onions are translucent, about 5 minutes. Add parsley, oregano, thyme, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper, then mix well. Stir in oysters and cook until edges curl, about 8 minutes. Combine bread crumbs and reserved oyster liquid, then gently mix in. Spoon the dressing into a baking dish and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before baking.
  • Bake until the top turns a beautiful golden brown, for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven.
