Classic bread pudding with creamy raisin filling and sweet butter sauce - a timeless, irresistible dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 loaf white bread, torn into large chunks
  • 1 stick butter
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and lightly grease a 10x12-inch baking pan.
  • In a bowl, blend together half-and-half, eggs, sugar, heavy cream, raisins, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  • Place the bread pieces evenly on the bottom of the pan. Gently pour the cream mixture over the bread and let it soak for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Create a water bath by placing the baking pan inside a larger pan and filling it with water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the smaller pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 60-75 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Gradually melt butter in a cozy skillet over gentle heat. Transfer to a petite bowl; blend with confectioners' sugar until smooth.
  • Take the bread pudding out of the oven, then gently poke holes all over it with a butter knife before pouring the butter sauce on top.
