Ingredients:
  • 400g regular beef mince
  • 70g breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • Salt & freshly ground pepper
  • 13.80 gm olive oil
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 430g pkt Turkish bread, cut into 4 pieces, split
  • 1 bunch rocket, ends trimmed, washed, dried
  • 2 ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 225g can sliced beetroot, drained
  • 125.00 ml bought tomato pickle or chutney
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, combine mince, breadcrumbs, egg, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly and form into 8 patties.
  • In a large non-stick pan over medium heat, cook the patties for 4 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Top each patty with a slice of cheese before serving.
  • Toast fragrant Turkish bread until golden and crispy.
  • Arrange rocket, tomato, and beetroot on top of Turkish bread bases. Place 2 patties on each base. Drizzle a bit of pickle over the patties and cover with the remaining slices of bread. Serve promptly.
