Orange-Scented Pound Cake and Frosting Fondue

Indulgent fondue featuring Betty Crocker Pound Cake, rich frosting, fresh fruit, and colorful sprinkles - perfect for the whole family!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Pound Cake Mix
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • Grated peel of 1 orange
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Milk Chocolate Frosting or 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • 1 cup pretzels and/or large marshmallows
  • 1 cup fresh orange sections and/or strawberries
  • Assorted candy sprinkles, chopped nuts, colored sugars, as desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Thoroughly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with shortening and lightly dust with flour.
  • In a medium bowl, blend together the cake mix, water, butter, eggs, and orange peel on low speed for 30 seconds, then switch to medium speed for 3 minutes (or beat vigorously by hand for 4 minutes). Transfer the batter into the pan.
  • Bake until firm to the touch, around 22 to 25 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan and cooling completely on a rack.
  • Level the cake top and cut it into 3 equal horizontal slices. Use a cookie cutter to create shapes from the loaf cake. For the fondue, heat the frosting in a ramekin in the microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute until melted.
  • Arrange cake cutouts and remaining ingredients in small ramekins or containers on a platter around the fondue. Serve with napkins, wooden skewers, and small plates for dipping.
