Puttanesca sauce: Tangy blend of capers, olives, and tomatoes - perfect on spaghetti for a quick, flavorful meal known as 'whore-style pasta'. Easy, affordable, and delicious!
Ingredients:
  • 40ml (2 tbsp) olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 small red chilli, finely chopped
  • 75g pitted green olives, sliced
  • 75g pitted black olives, sliced
  • 6 semi-dried tomatoes, cut into thin strips
  • 40.00 ml salted capers, rinsed
  • 425g can diced tomatoes
  • 400g spaghetti
  • 125.00 ml fresh basil leaves, shredded
  • Grated parmesan, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a skillet, warm up oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic and chili for 1 minute. Stir in olives, semi-dried tomatoes, capers, and diced tomatoes. Simmer for 20 minutes, then season with pepper. Meanwhile, cook pasta per package instructions.
  • After draining the pasta, return it to the pan. Mix in the sauce and basil, gently toss to combine. Serve with a sprinkle of Parmesan on top.
