Delicious family-favorite spring rolls to savor!
Ingredients:
  • 40ml (2 tbsp) sunflower oil
  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 20.00 ml finely chopped fresh ginger
  • 350g packet mixed stir-fry vegetables (if the pieces are large, cut into smaller pieces)
  • 40ml (2 tbsp) kecap manis*
  • 6 (25 x 25cm) puff pastry sheets
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Sesame seeds, to sprinkle
  • Sweet chilli sauce, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 200°C.
  • In a hot wok, sear the beef in half the oil until browned. Set it aside. Add remaining oil and quickly stir-fry garlic, ginger, and vegetables until crisp. Combine with beef and kecap manis, then let cool.
  • Cut each pastry sheet in half. Spoon 3 dollops of the mixture into the center of each pastry half, leaving 3-4cm at each end. Fold the ends into the center, slightly overlapping, then fold one side in and roll until the seam is on the bottom. Repeat with the rest of the pastry sheets and filling.
  • Coat the pastry parcels with beaten egg and generously sprinkle sesame seeds on top before transferring them to a baking tray lined with non-stick paper. Bake for around 15 minutes or until the pastry turns a beautiful golden brown. Enjoy the spring rolls with a side of sweet chili sauce.
