Indulge in these decadent peanut, oat, and chocolate bars for a unique and satisfying baked dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup baking cocoa
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped salted peanuts
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease a 15x10x1-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to combine sugar, butter, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, flour, cocoa, oats, and baking powder until well mixed. Fold in peanuts. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of the oat mixture for the topping. Press the remaining oat mixture onto the bottom of the pan to create the crust.
  • In a medium bowl, whip the cream cheese until smooth. Add 3 eggs, milk, peanut butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Beat on medium speed, scraping the bowl occasionally, until thoroughly combined. Spoon the peanut butter mixture over the oat mixture in the pan, spreading it evenly to the edges. Gently sprinkle the reserved oat mixture evenly over the peanut butter layer.
  • Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack for about 30 minutes. Cut into 8 rows by 6 rows to make bars, then store covered in the refrigerator.
