Indulgent caramel slice with peanut butter and three choc chip varieties.
Ingredients:
  • 200g butter, at room temperature
  • 70g (1/3 cup) caster sugar
  • 4.40 gm vanilla essence
  • 1 egg
  • 120g (3/4 cup) plain flour
  • 5.00 gm self-raising flour
  • 30g (1/4 cup) cocoa powder
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) milk
  • 395g can condensed milk
  • 85.80 gm crunchy peanut butter
  • 125.00 ml dark choc chips
  • 125.00 ml milk choc chips
  • 125.00 ml white choc chips
  • 150g dark cooking chocolate
  • 60g butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C. Grease and line a 16 x 26cm slice pan, leaving some paper to hang over the sides.
  • Cream together the butter, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix well. Gently fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and milk until combined.
  • Evenly spread mixture in pan and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • In a bowl, mix together 395g can condensed milk and 1/3 cup crunchy peanut butter. Add 1/2 cup dark choc chips, 1/2 cup milk choc chips, and 1/2 cup white choc bits. Pour the mixture over the Chocolate Slice Base. Bake at 180°C for 20-25 minutes until set. Allow to cool in the pan.
  • Combine 150g dark cooking chocolate and 60g butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on medium, stirring every minute until smooth. Spread the mixture over the slice, then chill for 20 minutes to set. Cut into pieces before serving.
