Ingredients:
  • Low-fat dairy spread
  • 6 slices oatbran & honey, crusts removed, halved diagonally
  • 48.00 gm Nutella
  • 2 beurre bosc pears
  • 2 eggs
  • 625ml milk
  • 2.20 gm vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a 20cm square ovenproof dish with margarine and spread Nutella on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place the pear upright on a chopping board. Hold the top of the pear with one hand and slice three 1cm thick slices on each side of the core to yield six slices. Discard the core and repeat with the rest of the pears.
  • Arrange alternating layers of bread slices and ripe, juicy pears in a baking dish.
  • In a jug, combine eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour the mixture over the bread and pears. Let it rest for 5 minutes to absorb. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the custard sets. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes. Serve while warm.
