Pear and pecan scones: a deliciously nutty breakfast ready in 35 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 3/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup cold butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1 cup chopped peeled pear (1 medium)
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Use a pastry blender or fork to cut in the butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Mix in the egg and half-and-half until a soft dough comes together. Gently fold in the pears and pecans.
  • Scoop 1/3 cupfuls of dough onto a non-greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 16-18 minutes until beautifully golden. Take out from the sheet right away and enjoy warm.
