Festive spices infuse these delightful shortbread cookies.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to a toasty 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine smooth butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add eggs one at a time, whisking until fluffy. Mix flour, cardamom, and cinnamon, then fold into the sugar mixture until just combined.
  • Divide the dough into 6 portions, then roll each portion into a rope the size of your finger on a lightly floured surface. Cut the ropes into 1/2-inch pieces and place them on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Allow to cool on baking sheets briefly before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
