Danish-inspired spicy Christmas cookies bursting with cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves for a flavorful holiday treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2.75 cups all-purpose flour, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and lightly grease two to three baking sheets.
  • Cream the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt until combined. Gradually mix in the flour until dough forms. Roll dough into small 1/2 teaspoon balls using floured hands and place on baking sheets.
  • Bake in a preheated oven until the bottoms of the cookies are lightly golden, for 10 to 12 minutes. Allow to cool for 15 minutes on the baking sheets, then transfer to an airtight container to store.
