Simple one-pan cobbler with scrumptious brown sugar and cinnamon topping, reminiscent of a dump cake.
Ingredients:
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1.5 cups self-rising flour
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.66666668653488 cup milk, or more as needed
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1.5 cups hot water
Instructions:
  • In a 9x13-inch cake pan or casserole dish, add the butter and place it in the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, milk, and vanilla until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should have a smooth, pourable consistency. If needed, add more milk to adjust the thickness.
  • Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Take the melted butter out of the oven and generously sprinkle pecans over it. Without stirring, pour the batter over the pecans, sprinkle with the brown sugar mixture, and gently pour hot water over everything.
  • Bake until golden brown in the preheated oven, about 30-35 minutes.
