Irresistible pumpkin pecan pie with sweet pecan streusel topping and a hint of orange zest.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 cups solid pack pumpkin puree
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (9-inch) prepared pie crust
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 0.25 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup pecan halves
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a piping hot 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together eggs, sugars, flour, spices, and salt. Stir in pumpkin. Gradually incorporate condensed milk until mixture is smooth. Transfer the mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  • While the pie is baking, prepare the topping by mixing together 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 tablespoon of grated orange rind, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and 3/4 cup of whole pecans.
  • Lower oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C, if using) and bake pie until filling is fully set, for an additional 40 to 50 minutes. Sprinkle pecan mixture over the pie during the last 10 minutes of baking time.
