Create delicious lemonade by blending simple syrup with freshly squeezed lemon juice for a perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white, granulated sugar (can reduce to 3/4 cup)
  • 1 cup water (for the simple syrup)
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 2 to 3 cups cold water (to dilute)
Instructions:
  • Prepare the simple syrup by combining sugar and water in a small saucepan. Simmer until the sugar dissolves completely, then remove from heat.
  • Prepare the lemon juice: Extract the juice from 4 to 6 lemons while the water heats for the syrup. This should yield approximately 1 cup of juice, depending on the size of the lemons.
  • Combine the lemon juice and simple syrup in a pitcher. Pour in 2 to 3 cups of cold water and adjust to taste. If desired, stir in extra lemon juice for more tartness.
