Create a flavorful roast chicken with herb butter rub. Ready in 2 hours.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (4 pound) whole chicken
  • 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 pinch dried rosemary
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Thoroughly rinse and pat dry the chicken. Combine margarine, garlic salt, black pepper, thyme, parsley, and rosemary in a bowl, then rub the chicken inside and out with the mixture. Place any extra mixture inside the chicken cavity and transfer the chicken to a glass baking dish.
  • Roast the chicken in a hot oven until golden and the juices are clear, for approximately 2 hours. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness, ensuring it reads at least 160°F (70°C) when inserted into the thickest part of the thigh without touching the bone.
