Easily make zesty pickled red onions to elevate tacos, salads, and sandwiches. A must-have fridge staple for added crunch!
Ingredients:
  • 2 medium red onions, thinly sliced into half-moons
  • 0.75 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 5 black peppercorns
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your ingredients.
  • Place the onion slices tightly into a sterilized 1-pint jar.
  • In a small saucepan, simmer vinegar, salt, sugar, and peppercorns until boiling over medium-high heat.
  • Pour the flavorful brine over the onions in the jar and let them sit, uncovered, for 30 minutes to enhance their taste.
  • Seal the jar tightly, then shake well. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to 2 weeks) until flavors develop. Keep chilled before serving.
