Elevate traditional shortbread cookies with nutty poppy seeds. Slice warm from the oven for a perfect finish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • 0.66666668653488 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • In a food processor, mix flour, butter, confectioners' sugar, poppy seeds, vanilla extract, and salt until a dry and crumbly dough forms.
  • Spread the dough evenly in an 11x7-inch baking pan, then prick the entire surface with a fork to keep it from puffing up while baking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  • Transfer the fragrant shortbread from the pan onto a cutting board and slice into 12 equally sized bars while it's still warm. Then, elegantly arrange the bars on a wire rack to cool down and develop the perfect texture.
