Simplify steak night with juicy porterhouse steak topped with savory onion gravy.
Ingredients:
  • 4 x 200g beef porterhouse steaks, fat trimmed
  • 500g “microwave in a bag” mini white potatoes
  • 2 carrots, peeled, cut into batons
  • 1 bunch broccolini, trimmed
  • 250.00 ml frozen peas
  • 4.60 gm olive oil
  • 1 brown onion, thinly sliced
  • 29g packet traditional gravy mix
  • Chopped parsley, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat a lightly oiled chargrill pan or barbecue on high heat. Grill steaks for 3 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Allow steaks to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Microwave potatoes in packet on HIGH (100%) for 4 to 5 minutes until tender. In a microwave-safe container, steam carrots, broccolini, and peas for 2 to 3 minutes until tender.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook onions until softened, for about 3 to 4 minutes. Mix gravy in a jug as per packet instructions, then pour into the pan. Season, stir well, and simmer for 1 minute until heated through.
  • To serve, plate the steaks with gravy and vegetables, and finish by sprinkling parsley on top.
