Juicy whole wheat bison burgers infused with portobello mushrooms, chipotle chile, thyme, and cumin for a flavorful and spicy twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground bison
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground dried chipotle pepper
  • 0.75 cup portobello mushrooms
  • 0.5 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped onion
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns, split and toasted
Instructions:
  • Get your outdoor grill ready by preheating it to medium-high heat and coating the grate lightly with oil.
  • Mix together bison, cumin, oregano, thyme, chipotle, mushrooms, Cheddar cheese, and onion until fully incorporated. Season with salt and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  • Grill patties over slightly reduced heat until browned on both sides, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Serve on toasted whole wheat buns.
