Festive holiday treats combining sweet and tart flavors commonly enjoyed during Christmas.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333331346512 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
  • Combine sugar, water, and vinegar in a saucepan. Bring to a lively boil over medium-high heat until mixture turns deep golden brown or reaches 300°F (149°C) on a candy thermometer, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and pour onto two buttered dinner plates.
  • As the candy starts to firm up, gently pull from the edges of the plates. Stretch it into long ropes and use kitchen scissors to cut it into pieces, giving each piece a twist. Allow the candy to cool entirely before storing it in an airtight tin. Caution: The candy will be extremely hot during the pulling and cutting process.
