Transforming canned pumpkin into delectable pumpkin streusel sticky buns, coated in a rich maple-brown sugar glaze and topped with chopped pecans.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 1/2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Instructions:
  • In a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat, melt 1/2 cup of butter until it turns a rich caramel brown color. Strain the melted butter into a cup to remove any darkened bits, then chill in the freezer to solidify.
  • Place the solid butter in a medium bowl along with the rest of the Streusel ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your hands to mix the butter into the mixture until it becomes crumbly. Set it aside for later use.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 13x9-inch pan. In a small bowl, combine maple syrup and 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Spread the mixture evenly in the bottom of the pan, then sprinkle with the remaining glaze ingredients.
  • Combine Bun ingredients in a large bowl until dough forms. Transfer dough to a surface dusted with Bisquick mix. Knead until smooth (about 10 turns), then roll it out into a 15x9-inch rectangle. Sprinkle with streusel. Roll the dough tightly from one long side, and pinch to seal. Using a sharp knife, slice dough into 12 equal pieces. Arrange cut side down in a pan and sprinkle with any leftover streusel.
  • Bake until golden brown, then invert pan onto serving plate, transferring any remaining glaze over buns. Serve warm.
