Cream cheese swirled spiced loaf, perfect for slicing and boasting elegant presentation.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
  • 0.33333298563957 cup water
Instructions:
  • Combine creamy cream cheese, sweet 1/4 cup sugar, and one beaten egg into a smooth blend. Set it aside for later use.
  • Mix together the flour, 1 1/2 cups white sugar, baking soda, salt, and spices, then set it aside.
  • Mix together pumpkin, butter or margarine, beaten egg, and water. Gently fold in the flour mixture until just combined. Set aside 2 cups of the pumpkin batter. Pour the rest into a greased and floured 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Spoon cream cheese mixture over the batter, then top with reserved pumpkin batter. Swirl with a knife for a marbled effect.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 70 minutes until a tester comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to cool completely.
