Quick and Easy Cream of Tomato Soup

Create velvety tomato soup by combining canned diced tomatoes with whole milk.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes in juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 (10 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon margarine
  • 0.5 teaspoon chicken base
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 2 cups whole milk
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, gently heat diced tomatoes in their juice until hot, for about 7 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle in baking soda to see it foam. Next, blend in tomato soup, parsley, sugar, margarine, chicken base, and white pepper. Cook until hot, approximately 5 minutes. Then pour in milk, stirring constantly until hot, about 5 minutes.
