Get spooky with Halloween treats for a hauntingly good time!
Ingredients:
  • 1 dark rye loaf, cut into 24 thin slices
  • 250g soft cream cheese
  • 62.50 ml finely chopped chives
  • 2 Lebanese cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • Mustard cress or alfalfa, to garnish
Instructions:
  • Place 12 slices of bread on the work surface.
  • Reserve a quarter of the cream cheese for decorating. Combine the rest of the cream cheese with the chives and season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Spread the mixture on the bread, add cucumber slices, and top with the remaining bread. Cut each sandwich in half before serving.
  • Transfer the leftover cream cheese into a piping bag fitted with a small nozzle. Use it to create a decorative border around the edge of each sandwich, then write RIP in the center. Sprinkle cress or alfalfa over a platter and place the sandwiches on top to resemble gravestones in a cemetery.
