Kid-friendly raspberry almond oat bars - simple and delicious treat for young chefs!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup raspberry jelly
  • 0.66666668653488 cup sliced almonds
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and line an 8x8 inch baking dish with foil, lightly greasing it.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, oats, and sugar. Add butter and mix by hand until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in almond extract.
  • - Transfer 2 cups of the flour mixture to a separate bowl. - Spread the remaining flour mixture in the prepared pan evenly to form the bottom layer. - Evenly spread raspberry jelly over the flour layer. - Sprinkle the reserved 2 cups of flour mixture gently over the jelly. - Top with almonds for added crunch.
  • Bake until the top is a beautiful golden brown, approximately 30 minutes. Let it cool in the baking dish, then carefully lift out the foil and transfer the square to a cutting board. Slice into 9 perfect squares using a sharp knife.
