Elevate red velvet cookies with red wine instead of food coloring. Finish with a white chocolate ganache drizzle for a decadent touch.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup red Zinfandel wine, or more as needed
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for a perfectly cooked dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, blend together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until creamy for 2 to 3 minutes. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Pour in the red wine and blend until fully mixed. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until just combined with the butter mixture. Portion out small mounds onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until edges are crisp. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
